Pet Shop Boys have recorded a new version of the early 80s classic, “I’m in love with a German film star”, with Sam Taylor-Wood on vocals. The track will be made available for sale on CD on this site as the second release on the Lucky Kunst label. There will be a seven-inch mix, a “full length” mix and a dance remix. Full details will be here as soon as we have them. “I’m in love with a German film star” was originally a hit in the UK in 1981 for The Passions. The first release on Lucky Kunst was “Love to love you, baby” by Kiki Kokova.

Disco 4, the latest installment in the Pet Shop Boys remix album series has been announced. The project, released in the UK on September 27th, focuses mostly on remixes on tracks performed by other artists and features the following tracklisting:

I was actually just wondering if they’d ever do this sort of thing while sorting through my remixes by the duo. I’m glad to see “Hooked On Radiation” getting a proper release, and judging by the title alone, that remix of “Integral” will be the ultimate in political dance tunes this fall.
Ewan Pearson’s promo-only remix of Fundamental opening track “Psychological” will appear on Piecework, a compilation of the producer’s remixes. The complete track list is below:

Cubism, the Pet Shop Boys concert recorded in Mexico last year, will get an American release tomorrow. If your local record store doesn’t carry records by semi-obscure British synthpop duos, Amazon is offering the DVD at a substantial discount.
